Clenching or grinding of teeth is a common problem in toddlers. It usually begins at 2 to 3 years of age and outgrows it by the age of 6 years.
It usually occurs because of some kind of stress affecting your child it could be anything, which can cause anxiety.
Reassurance is all that is required. Giving him/her a relaxation before bedtime such as a warm bath, listening to music, or reading a book .If the child’s teeth are being damaged by repeated grinding, a dental appliance may be helpful.
It will not affect your child unless it is persistent. Teeth grinding can cause pain in the jaw muscles, wearing down of the teeth enamel and dental malocclusion.
