My child is inattentive, how I deal with it?

  • Be in child‘s vicinity.
  • Keep instructions simple.
  • Maintain eye contact.
  • Give one instruction at a time.
  • Prompt the child to verbally repeat instructions.
  • Slowly build the number of steps for instruction and praise the child after each complete step.
  • Reward those, that are appropriate
  • Chart the child’s behavior, so that he/she can see the targets of improvements and offer him/her appropriate rewards.
